I am a 30 something female geek mother of 2 tweenage boys and a teenage girl (yes I did have her VERY young). I have been married and divorced, but at present I am in a committed relation ship of 10+ years which I have no intention of spoiling by bringing in pseudo religious iconography and social stereotyping (read getting married). I live on a 200 acre property outside the ACT toward the snow, in a small (read ease to keep warm) house.
I also have a few pets- Smidge and Anya the dogs, Tsuki and Joshua Terrence the ferrets, Cheli the Turle, Zathras the Llama, Honey and Caramel the Alpacas and Silver the Horse.
I have been a goth, ( in the true sense of reading out load Percy Bryce Shelly, taking mind altering substances and debating the nature of things … I was a teenager too) but now find it hard to wear white face to work in the public service ( damn), and I have to settle for weekend alternateness and find that I am more me than "type" I could identify.
I love jewelry had have a bedroom wall of it rather than paintings.I especially love cloisonné enamel work and Indian lahk work.
I have tattoos and piercings just not as many as I did.
I have done RPG, LARPS, Cons and LAN weekends.
I have been in the SCA. I have debated living in a cave or moving to Italy and teaching English.
I have built PC from scratch, disassembled laptops and coded html, VBA and SQL off the top of my head. However I have nothing against Apple or a MAC having used one as my first computer.
I do not think Bill Gates is the anti-christ, I happen to like and use word, project, excel and access etc . However Adobe is sooooo much better for graphics so… I also know how to use vector graphics to design a really good tattoo or banner, but its bean a while.
I am curious about the world and love researching any random thing that crosses my path, eg etymology, spoilers, history, science.
I will try anything three times to give it a fair go.
I like coffee, tea and any number of other hot liquid beverages.
I am of no particular religious persuasion and am happy to let every one else have their patch of ideology as long as I do not have to buy in to it to be their friend.
I prefer Australian spelling to American… but hey if you can understand what I mean then does it really make a difference.
I like art nouveau furniture, new romantics paintings, gothic poetry and art deco clothing.
Present Fandom Interests are Firefly, Farscape, Angel, NCIS, The West Wing, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Battlestar Gallactica, Stargate CSI, Kingdom Hearts.
Present reading the genre's are Historical Romance, Paranormal Romance ( Vampires, shapeshifters, witches), Cyberpunk and Tv Tie Ins.
